The locally famed pirate buccaneer image is the logo for the late Hungry Palette boutique which was home to Sandy Bragdon’s bright, kaleidoscope of personally, hand-drawn, screen printed fabrics for more than half a century located at the corner of Union and Water Streets in SE Connecticut’s Stonington Borough.

The logo was designed byPeter Good, graphic artist of note and fellow classmate of Sandy’s at University of Connecticut, Class of 1965.

Sandy and her husband, Tucker pioneered the Stonington Dinghy Club circa 1969 which, to this day, hosts a free summer races series on Wednesday evenings in Stonington Harbor.  Sailors of every age, experience-level and walk of life participate in this friendly competition aboard all make and size boats 20’ in length and under.

Tucker is still out there winning races with the Hungry Palette
spinnaker flying high.

Visit sdcwednightrace.com for complete race participation details.

  • I have been illustrating and painting since the late 1980s. I raised my two children sailing and sandcastle building along the shores of the Fishers Island Sound.

I specialize in nautical illustrations depicting area seascapes and obscure points of interest often from an on-water, boater’s perspective. So far Stonington & Mystic, Connecticut have mostly been among my subjects with some Martha's Vineyard and Cape Cod are included in my portfolio as well.

If you are interested in custom work, message me.  I do commissioned portraits placing people in my illustrations as well as homes, boats and favorite secret spots.

    Shipping in Continental USA only.

The prints are available in multi sizes.  Frames are available in Black, White and Natural.
